The hotel is conveniently situated 15 minutes from the airport, train station and bus terminal and only 10 minutes from the famous market “Night Bazaar” and riverside restaurants. Within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the hotel are Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, the Lanna Architectural Museum, the Three Kings Monument and many other important temples and historic sites like the Tha-Pae Gate, Wat Umong Mahatherachan and Wat Phan On. -12 Guest Rooms in total - 6 Lanna rooms & 6 Lanna Deluxe rooms in building 1
-Work will be carried out on a maximum of 2 - 4 rooms at any one time and buffer rooms will be blocked in our system around the rooms being worked on to keep the disturbance to in house guests to a minimum.
Phase 2: September 1 – October 31, 2015
-Creation of two Lanna Suites by combining 4 Lanna rooms. This work will be focused in Building 5 towards the back of the property and again there will be a buffer block of rooms around the work to avoid locating guests too close to the work being carried out.

During Walking Street Hours on every Sun; the road In front of hotel will
be closed from 3 p.m. until midnight, the guests should arrive early or
transfering at Ban Ping Temple and walk to the hotel

Lanna Rooms offer first and second floor garden courtyard views and are decorated in a style that blends perfectly with the hotel's theme and setting. Decorative elements such as hand-made lacquer boxes and embroidered tribal caps add to the charm and reflect the attention to detail found throughout the hotel.

The terrace looks out onto the central courtyard with its massive tamarind tree on one side and the elegant spire of the pagoda of an ancient temple on the other.

Tamarind Village also boasts a selection of authentic Northern Thai dishes from original family recipes that have been handed down over generations. In addition to popular favorites such as 'Nam Prik Noom' a green chili dipping sauce and 'Gaeng Hang Lay' a mild pork and ginger curry, Ruen Tamarind also features less well known recipes, such as its signature 'Yum Sanut', a vegetable salad tossed in a tangy, chili dressing, ensuring diners always have something new to taste and discover when they visit.

Our six treatment rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, are decorated simply yet elegantly, a perfect complement to the gracious skills of our therapists. The gentle rhythms of traditional northern Thai music playing softly in the background will lull you into a state of unhurried bliss.

The Village Spa's extensive treatment menu includes a wide range of massage therapies, facials, scrubs and wraps as well as carefully chosen packages to rejuvenate and refresh the body and soul.

Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is set in a courtyard filled with tropical plants and flowers. Measuring 7.65 by 17.60 meters with a depth of 1.65 meters surrounded by comfortable recliners with parasols, this is the perfect place to relax with a book or take a refreshing dip. Ruen Tamarind provides a selection of drinks and cocktails served on the pool terrace.

The Tamarind Boutique:
The Tamarind Boutique's carefully chosen selection represents the very best of contemporary design items including jewelry, clothing and home accessories alongside a fine selection of northern Thai artifacts and the hotel's own signature products. Monday: Paper umbrella painting
Chiang Mai is famous for its beautiful hand painted paper umbrellas. Bo sang Village, located in Sankhampaeng District, is the home of this craft which the villagers learned from a monk who brought the art form with him from Burma in the last century. Umbrellas come in many colors and are decorated with flower and bird motifs to name just a few. Join us to create your very own Chiang Mai style umbrella for a unique souvenir.

Sunday: The village walk
Join us on and hour long walking tour through the back lanes of our 'village' and left us introduce you to some of the beautiful temples and historic monuments which are located just on our door step. Discover northern Thailand's rich culture and history which dates back more than 700 years. In additional, you'll have the chance to join in a daily merit making offering to the Buddhist monks of our local temple. *09.30 hrs. The Village Walk is available every day upon request with one day's advance notice.
