Accommodation and facilities:
We stayed based on mostly good reviews. Hotel is OK, rooms are OK, close to beach easy walk. But the area is a bit boring. Hotel mainly seems to cater to Scandinavian market. Better to stay in Patong at good hotel close to beach then use tuk tuk vans to go on day trips to near-by beaches. Kata beach is beautiful (as are most on phuket). If you want to party - stay in Patong.
