Montra is a small independent hotel. As you enter the hotel you have to duck through a pair of solid old wooden gates, as you clunk the gates behind you, you find yourself in a magical peaceful garden, you feel yourself relaxing and you get the feeling you are somewhere special.
The 9 luxuriously villas are situated in a lush tropical garden dominated by an elegant swimming pool built through the whole compound like a natural canal. All villas are large with 63 square meters, and offer master bedroom with high ceiling top quality bed and linens. The living room comes equipped with all the modern amenities, the 14 square meters bathroom offer both, an open shower and a bathtub designed with twin headrests for two.

My recent stay at Montra was excellent. The hotel is small and intimate but the standards of service are excellent and the rooms were really nicely appointed. I d definitely stay there again if I was visiting Samui and I don t think it loses much from being a short distance from the overdeveloped and slightly chavvy beach strip hotels and resorts.

Booking via trip advisor was fine. No better or worse than any other online booking agent.

An oasis of calm and elegance. Stayed at the Montra towards the end of a three week trip to Thailand and Laos. It was pure heaven. Private and select bungalow, lush gardens, cooling canal-like pool,great for relaxing in or for a leisurely swim. Exquisite food. Wonderful staff.

Wonderful hotel.Staff are brilliant from the general manager Mr Sathit downwards.Very elegant villas all alongside an incredible pool.Resataurant also well above average with everything cooked to order including the herbs being picked from their own vegetable garden.They also recommend other local restaurants, book them for you and even transport you there and back. Altogether an unforgetable experience.

The hotel is just what was needed..somewhere quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It s only small (8 villas) so never really get s busy . It s only a 2minute ride down to Lamai town/beach. Everything from the room, to the pool to the food was great. No Complaints!
