Travel reviews for Chaloklum Bay Resort
Date of stay: Jul 23, 2017
Accommodation and facilities:
For the price of an upscale hotel we had a green and unusable pool, an old bungalow without a safe, no kettle, no water in the fridge, very poor quality bedding and staff who made no effort to Improve the situation.
Only the view from the bungalow was superb.
In short, it was our most expensive resort on our trip and this was the most disappointing ... to absolutely get away !!
Very kind interlocutor, who gave us a lot of information about the tours to do on the island.
However the expected service for the hotel was not good, I think you should check the hotels more often.
The website explains: Because we have been in Thailand for 15 years, including 12 years in Koh Pha Ngan, and our main strength lies in a perfect knowledge of the islands of the Gulf of Thailand (Koh Phangan, Koh Samui & Koh Tao ), Hotel establishments and persons. It was not the case for this hotel ....
We were not offered to change hotels after explaining the situation by phone ....

Accommodation and facilities:
The view and positioning of the resort is great however the resort and rooms are very tired looking and needed maintenance. The restaurant also needs some attention and food was very average compared to the rest of the island.

The main northern village of Chaloklum is expanding to cater for more than just the fishing trade that it's well know for.
It is still mainly a Thai village that hasn't yet been over-effected by tourism and there is a wealth of cheap Thai restaurants serving tasty
fresh squid and other local catches; but the place is also getting a bit of funky feel with the opening of some cool bars
and cafes including Caf DelMar, an open air club / bar in the village.
Chaloklum's maritime roots mean that fishing and diving trips are easy to take from here,
it is also home to Koh Phangan's northernmost port making it the main transit point to visit Bottle Beach,
or any of the other surrounding beaches by boat.
Chaloklum Bay Resort is located on the quiet western end of Ao Chaloklum in front of the bay's with white sandy beach and coral reef. The resort includes 30 villa to choose from prices to suit any budget providing modern facilities, situated around with a central swimming pool.
Well designed resort has fused traditional Thai and modern influences to create a well laid out and spacious landscape
that is both pleasing to eye and functional. All the villa face the beach and are positioned
so that there is a sea view from every balcony and enough space between them for complete privacy.
The resort was previously a coconut plantation and most of the tall palms remain,
giving shade to the lush gardens and cooling the buildings.

Chaloklum Bay Resort
is located just outside Chaloklum village on the new concrete ring road
that joins the north to the west of the island. It is easily accessible from Thong Sala, about 20 minutes drive away in a taxi.
The village has a small working port, where it is possible to organize boat taxis and trips to virtually anywhere on the island.
